Title: Business Development Supervisor 

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8am-4:30pm; with occasional evening and weekend hours maybe needed based on Agency needs.

Salary: $95,000 - $100,000 / year



Position Overview


Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement, the Granite VNA Business Development Supervisor is responsible for developing and strengthening business partnerships that drive growth in hospice and home health referrals. This position leads the execution of strategic business development activities and is accountable for achieving the organization’s referral and admissions growth objectives.


Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with the Director of Community Engagement to establish referral and admissions goals and objectives; monitors performance and outcomes of Business Development team members and implements strategies to support achievement of organizational goals. 
  • Analyzes market trends, referral patterns, and competitive information to develop and implement effective business development strategies for assigned markets, territories, referral sources, and key accounts.
  • Provides regular individual coaching, mentoring, and performance support to team members and facilitates team meetings to promote accountability, collaboration, and achievement of business development goals.
  • Spends a significant portion of time (50-75%) in the community alongside liaisons, cultivating referral relationships, identifying growth opportunities, supporting account development, and strengthening the organization’s presence within the service area.
  • Develops and maintains key referral partnerships and assists with securing contracts, service agreements, and other partnership opportunities that support organizational growth.
  • Develops and delivers presentations and educational programs to internal and external stakeholders to increase awareness of Granite VNA’s services and strengthen referral relationships.
  • Provides direct supervision and leadership to liaisons, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluations, scheduling, timesheet approval, and completion of required personnel documentation.
  • Identifies trends, opportunities, and challenges within the referral community and communicates recommendations to organizational leadership to support informed decision-making and business growth.
  • Builds strong collaborative relationships with clinical and operational teams to promote effective communication, coordination, and responsiveness to referral partners and the needs of patients and families.
  • Promotes a culture of teamwork, accountability, respect, and open communication; provides and receives constructive feedback and works collaboratively to resolve challenges and achieve shared goals.
  • Utilizes agency and department-specific software, systems, and technology to effectively manage business development activities, track performance, maintain account information, and complete assigned responsibilities.
  • Safely operate a personal vehicle while traveling throughout Granite VNA service area to provide patient visits and/or attend meetings.

Work Environment

The employee will be exposed to a controlled work environment. The employee may also be exposed to blood and bodily fluids, virus, disease and infection from patients and environmental hazards in the work environment. The employee may be required to work extended periods of time using a desktop, laptop and/or other mobile device. No employee is ever required to perform work that he or she believes is unsafe, or that he or she thinks is likely to cause injury or a health risk to themselves or others.  


This is a field position. Primary work location is in the community providing direct patient care not eligible for remote or work from home.


Expected Hours of Work

The employee will be scheduled to work Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 

However, occasional evening, weekend or holiday work hours maybe needed based on Agency needs.


Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific abilities include reading, writing and speaking in English, normal or correctable vision with the ability to accurately discern colors, and hearing. 
  • This position requires the ability to use a computer to document patient care. Specific abilities include use of fine motor skills to type, write and perform professional skills. 
  • This position requires intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. 
  • This position requires the ability to minimally lift up to 25 lbs. 
  • This position requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field; and
  2. Minimum of three (3) years of management experience in business development, marketing, or related field with a proven track record of leading a team in incremental growth.
  3. Experience in hospice and home health preferred.
