Job Overview:
We are a growing government contractor seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Human Resources. You will continue building our foundational HR infrastructure and advise Executive Leadership on all aspects of Human Resources. This role requires a blend of government contracting compliance expertise with multi-state operations, total rewards strategy, and overall Human Resources experience.
Key Focus Areas
- Foundational HR: Design and implement scalable HR processes.
- GovCon Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal and defense contractor regulations.
- Benefits Strategy: Partner with brokers on renewal options and lead open enrollment.
- Compensation Strategy: Build a program that drives growth and rewards performance.
- Systems & Leave: Oversee the Paylocity HRIS platform and multi-state leave administration.
- Multi-State Operations: Manage employment laws across 10+ states.
- Team Leadership: Guide an HR colleague focused on recruiting and onboarding.
- Employee Relations: Resolve complex issues and foster a positive corporate culture.
Key Responsibilities
· Total Rewards: Architect and manage a competitive compensation structure aligned with business growth.
· Strategic Benefits & Open Enrollment: Partner closely with insurance brokers to analyze market trends, model cost-effective plan designs, and present data-driven renewal options to executive leadership; lead the annual open enrollment execution, communication strategy, and employee education across all states.
· Performance Management: Develop evaluation and professional development frameworks that drive growth.
· Technology: Own the HRIS implementation, data integrity, and reporting metrics.
· Leave Management: Administer the paid time off and Leave of Absence (LOA) program across all states.
· Compliance: Audit and align HR practices with government contracting requirements (e.g., OFCCP, DCAA guidance where applicable).
· Policy Creation: Design and update company-wide policies and employee handbook.
· Mentorship: Build and guide HR team to optimize talent acquisition and onboarding workflows.
· Strategy: Advise executives on strategic workforce planning and risk mitigation.
· Reporting: Oversee federal reporting including EEO-1 and VETS-4212 filings.
Required Qualifications
· Experience: 8+ years of progressive HR experience required.
· Industry: Minimum 4 years in a government contracting environment.
· Scale: Proven success managing 100+ employees across multiple states.
· Compensation: Background designing pay structures, incentives, or total rewards frameworks.
· Systems: Strong proficiency managing and optimizing modern HRIS platforms (Paylocity preferred).
· Knowledge: Deep understanding of FLSA, FMLA, OFCCP, and multi-state leave laws.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
