The Front Office & Scheduling Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations of the medical care center by coordinating and supervising operation and duties of administrative and clerical staff in support of Occupational Medical Services at the Hanford environmental restoration site in Richland, Washington.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensure the facility is open and appropriately staffed during regularly scheduled hours and special events and that all facilities and equipment are available, operational, safe, and clean.
- Select, train, supervise and monitor quality and production levels of site staff to ensure they are equipped to perform their job duties.
- Develop monthly staff schedules to ensure appropriate staffing.
- Review and approve timecards.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Update and maintain policies, procedures and desk instructions.
- Interact with customers, review customer feedback, and address customer service issues.
- Act as front office and/or scheduling backup in the event of absence or high demand.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, or with healthcare emphasis, from an accredited college or university, or
- An Associate of Arts degree in business or front office management, or an equivalent certification with 2 years of medical office experience, or
- Three years of lead, supervisory, or management experience utilizing basic medical terminology and Electronic Health Records (EHR) technology, or
- Experience may count as a substitute dependent on work history.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Proficient use of common PC applications, including Microsoft Office. Familiarity of Electronic Health Records Technology.
- Demonstrated competency and knowledge of performing the essential functions for the role of Front Office & Scheduling Manager.
- Knowledge and adherence of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret communications and documents.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- High degree of critical thinking, customer service skills, and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to hire, supervise, train, and evaluate new and current staff.
