About the Role!

The Day Warehouse Assistant Manager will serve as a hands-on operational partner to the Warehouse Manager. You will actively manage, coordinate, and optimize all daytime warehouse activities, distribution operations, and staff. In this role, you will ensure total compliance with established safety regulations and operational procedures, stepping in to provide direct team oversight and tactical course correction whenever the manager is absent. The schedule for the Day Warehouse Assistant Manager is Monday through Friday, 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm. 

What You’ll Do as S&W's Day Warehouse Assistant Manager 

• Direct Distribution Operations: Assist in managing and executing end-to-end warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, drops, picking, loading, and shipping.
• Lead and Mentorship: Assign daily duties, monitor work quality, and provide direct oversight, guidance, and corrective action to keep the team aligned with goals.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process refinements to boost accuracy, throughput, and workflow speed.
• Maintain Operational Records: Execute inventory audits, maintain clean records, and leverage a deep working knowledge of core warehouse operating systems.
• Enforce Workplace Safety: Champion a safety-first culture by enforcing strict guidelines and ensuring complete compliance with safety requirements across all zones.

What Success Looks Like In This Role!

• Real Floor Leadership Experience: 2–4 years of related warehouse experience with a proven track record of supervising, prioritizing workflows, and motivating subordinates.
• Versatility in All Environments: Complete comfort working across multiple temperature zones (Dry, Cooler, Freezer) and exterior spaces in all weather conditions.
• Technical & Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrated experience operating RF 2 scanning guns, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, alongside strong overall inventory control skills.
• Analytical Problem Solving: Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple projects, hit deadlines, and independently troubleshoot issues on the floor.
• Excellent Communication: Sharp written and oral communication skills paired with fundamental reading comprehension and math skills.
• Critical Thinking: Strong foundational reading comprehension, math, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills. Proven ability to manage shifting priorities, execute concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
• Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

 Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Environmental Resilience: Fully capable of working in all warehouse temperature zones (including Dry, Cooler, and ultra-cold Freezer environments) as well as exterior settings across all weather types.
• Stamina & Adaptability: Ability to stay on your feet for long periods of time and pull open-ended shifts to ensure all work is completed for the night.
• Physical Labor: Ability to independently perform intense physical labor, including lifting up to 80 pounds on a regular basis.
