Description

We are looking for an imaginative, creative and resourceful person who can take a hands-on approach in a fast paced, scenic shop. We currently have a position available for a dynamic, self-sufficient fabricator. This team member must be a problem solver and must be ready to jump in immediately. Here’s what it will take to get the job:


JOB SUMMARY: Create and fabricate custom themed scenic elements for the Entertainment Industry. You'll learn to work with various materials, tools, and use unique methods to execute creative designs for theme parks, entertainment centers, film, television and more!


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: * other duties may be assigned

  • Fabricate and assemble various scenic components constructed from a variety of materials
  • Finish sculpts, create molds, and cast materials to obtain final parts for use in scenic/props
  • Utilize artistic experience working with various materials such as wood, metals, foam, fiberglass and plastics to complete creative builds
  • Learn new materials and methods to create dynamic props and set pieces for themed environments
  • Perform installations at offsite job locations
  • Ability to work with basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to read assembly and construction drawings
  • Maintain equipment, supplies and cleanliness of workstation and area.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS A PLUS, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Carpentry Experience
  • Clay sculpting
  • Painting (Hand and/or Airbrush)
  • Costume Design/Fabrication
  • Fiberglass fabrication
  • Welding
  • Fine art training
  • Sign Fabrication Experience


EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or University in Fine Arts is preferred, but not required. At a minimum Experience in Art Fabrication, working in a Scenic or Custom Fabrication Shop, or Experience as a Set, Theatre, or Theme Park Fabricator or Designer is required.


EXPERIENCE: Minimum combined 2 years education and experience in an Art, Sign, or Scenic/Prop Fabrication.
