Under the general direction of the Director of Parks and Recreation, responsible for organizing, scheduling, and coordinating recreation / aquatic activities, special events and programs. Performs management and administrative work in the operation of the aquatic center, programs and pool maintenance. Includes recruiting, supervising and training all recreation, aquatic personnel and volunteers. Responsible for all aquatic center schedules.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and four years of increasingly responsible experience, including two years in a supervisory role; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
To perform this job successfully, the individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook. Individual should be proficient in utilizing social media applications to promote parks and recreation activities.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be currently certified in lifesaving, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and first aid
Must become certified American Red Cross trainer in Lifeguard Training, CPR/First Aid and Water Safety
Valid KY Driver's License
Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred
Other Skills and Abilities
Must have at least three years’ experience in coaching swim teams and/or other aquatic facility activities.
Must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends
