Position Description: 

To be successful as one of our Dishwashers, you should be a dedicated, committed, a communicative team player with excellent organizational as well as time management skills.  You should be able to prioritize tasks in a busy setting and adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures.  The Dishwasher’s duties include removing soiled plates and flatware from tables, washing them thoroughly, and resetting tables in preparation for the next party.  They may also restock items, unload delivery trucks, help prepare cook stations, clean appliances and machines, empty and clean trash receptacles, and other duties, as needed.


Requirements

Wash dishes, glassware, pots/pans and utensils using dishwashers or by hand

Dry dishes, glassware, pots/pans and utensils prior to placing them in their designated locations

Commitment to all around cleanliness, including dishwashing and dish storage areas

Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment or utensils in a clean and orderly condition

Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas

Clean garbage can with hot water or steam

Willingness to follow sanitation and safety policies at all times

Assist cook and other staff as needed, especially during rushes

Responsible for reporting any sanitation or janitorial issues to management

Maintain a professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards

Assist with setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate larger parties

Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws/ordinances and follow all brand standards, recipes, systems, safety, food safety and sanitation guidelines

Prepare room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils

Help in the kitchen when the need arises

Set and maintain a high level of standards, display a passion for results, while consistently meeting or exceeding goals

Act as a role model to new and current staff

Contribute to the overall team performance and understand how your role relates or affects the roles of all other positions

Respond positively to coaching and feedback

Operate with integrity, honesty, accountability and treat others with respect

Maintain communication with general manager and team members

Operate restaurant equipment (minimum age requirements may apply) 

All other duties as assigned


Skills and Qualifications:

Must be ServSafe certified

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Self-motivated and self-directed 

Basic janitorial skills to clean up spills, broken glassware, etc. immediately

Ability to meticulously clean iced tea and coffee machines daily

Ability to operate an industrial dishwasher safely and rapidly

Highly organized, managing placement of all kitchen items and dishes and mindful of need to rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear

Must be an active listener, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions and not interrupting at inappropriate times

Work well as part of a team and on individual tasks

Previous dishwasher experience preferred
