We are looking for a highly motivated and resourceful attorney to join Fisker’s expanding Legal team as Corporate Counsel. The Corporate Counsel position will provide advice and counsel regarding a variety of legal matters, including dealer franchise, privacy, cybersecurity, e-commerce, and other issues as they arise. This role will report to the VP, Automotive Senior Counsel and will provide cross-functional support to Fisker’s Marketing, Sales & Service, HR, and Engineering teams.
The successful candidate should exhibit outstanding interpersonal skills, an entrepreneurial and team-first mentality, and a willingness to elevate standards across the organization. Fisker is a young, growth-focused company and therefore the Corporate Counsel must thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
•Provide legal advice and counsel related to global sales and distribution issues, including matters involving dealer franchise and e-commerce law.
•Review and revise marketing and digital advertising materials.
•Provide legal advice and counsel regarding privacy and cybersecurity compliance.
•Draft and revise contracts.
•Work directly with executive management and business leaders throughout the organization to mitigate legal risk related to various initiatives and projects.
•Manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
•Assist with training of business leaders and employees with respect to various legal matters.
•Draft and revise company policies and procedures.
•Assist with other matters and projects as needed and as they arise, such as employment law, product liability, regulatory compliance, and litigation and discovery.
Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience
•Juris Doctor degree from ABA-accredited law school.
•Admitted to California State Bar.
•Outstanding academic record with at least five years of top-tier law firm or in-house legal experience (public company and automotive experience a plus).
•Excellent attention to detail, legal research and writing, communication and project management skills.
•Process oriented, able to multi-task, team player and ability to work independently with limited oversight.
•Good judgment, keen diplomacy, and strong interpersonal skills.
•Organized, resourceful self-starter with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
•Strong work ethic, a desire to learn and excel, and a positive attitude.
•Occasional travel may be required domestically or internationally.
