Full Time Cook Job Description:
Full time cooks at Hardywood are responsible for driving an exemplary reputation for quality food, quick service, and friendly interaction with team members and guests in a fast paced, high volume environment. Cooks will work with direct oversight from Kitchen Manager and Chef, David Draper, and guidance from award winning Chef Joe Sparatta to prepare a focused menu consisting of gourmet pizza, salads, charcuterie boards, and baked goods, as well as a range of catered options for special events.

Responsibilities:
Achieve the objectives of Hardywood’s hospitality program to delight our customers with an exceptional food, beverage, and service experience.
Maintain consistently high quality product through proper technique and recipe adherence.
Operate and maintain professional grade equipment in an open kitchen environment with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic presentation.
Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume establishment while retaining attention to detail.
Prepare a range of offerings with a seasonal and locally driven menu from pizza, charcuterie boards, salads, baked desserts, a la carte, and a range of catering options.
Host occasional pop-up kitchen events in outdoor beer gardens at Hardywood’s Richmond or West Creek breweries in spring, summer, and fall.
Eagerness to learn and grow in the culinary field, with opportunity for advancement as Hardywood’s culinary operations evolve.
Assist with preparing food for occasional beer dinners at Hardywood’s Richmond or West Creek breweries, or off-site.
Help maintain proper inventory levels of food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
Provide guidance, training, and oversight to other kitchen team members.
Report to the kitchen manager and assist with additional tasks throughout the brewery as needed.
Experience and requirements:
Strong oral communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Previous restaurant, catering, or bakery experience required.
Reliable transportation required.
Physical requirements include ability to remain on feet and lift 40+ pounds throughout shifts of up to 10 hours.
ServSafe Certification preferred. Familiarity with safe food handling and sanitation procedures, COVID guidelines, and OSHA safety standards required.
