Irrigation Technician

Description

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of existing irrigation and the installation of new irrigation, operates vehicles and equipment in either a specific or variety of maintenance, construction and/or utility tasks. The work is performed in conformance with policies and procedures of the LCCR Casino. There are times the employee must exercise independent judgment when completing tasks. This employee is under the immediate supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. The Irrigation Technician is required to report any irregularities in course turf quality to the superintendent or assistant superintendent.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following 


  • Operates the irrigation system on a daily basis.
  • Detects and makes necessary repairs to the irrigation system.
  • Accurately reads various gauges as related to the irrigation system.
  • Operates light/heavy duty vehicles, riding mowers, backhoes, push mowers, rakes, shovels, blowers, sprayers, hand saws, hydraulic boom, small tools and any other equipment associated with turf care.
  • Stands for long periods of time and uses hand tools, water hoses and weed eaters.
  • Communicates effectively with other employees in the maintenance department 
  • Sits, stands, stoops and walks intermittently.
  • Must perform manual labor for extended periods under some unfavorable climatic conditions frequently lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Shovels dirt, sand and other materials.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements

· High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).

· Must have 2 years work experience related to irrigation systems.    


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

· Must posses a Washington State Drivers License with the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

· Must have legal authorization to work in the United State of America.
