POSITION SUMMARY

The Producer will support the business development of our Commercial Lines division by soliciting, generating, and negotiating new business production through outside business relationships. In addition, this person will be responsible for the retention of existing clients by building an exceptional client rapport and maintaining a lasting client relationship.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the development and successful acquisition of new business revenue from new and existing clients
  • Prospect sectors or market areas by identifying business needs and proposing company products and services
  • Obtain prospects and actively pursue and create interest via relationship development
  • Maintain the proper documentation for existing and prospective clients
  • Maintain current and further develop expertise in a declared sector or market area by networking and participating in professional development activities
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement initiatives to increase cost savings, efficiency, or effectiveness
  • Develop and promote strong relationships with prospects and clients
  • Achieve pre-determined sales goals
  • Seek, foster, and coordinate relationship with the service team
  • Travel as needed


Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies:

  • Excellent Microsoft Office abilities (Word/Excel- formulas, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc.) is essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance policies, coverages, documents, and regulations
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information, and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers
  • Exceptional listening skills and the ability to handle difficult inbound and outbound calls professionally and politely
  • Problem solver and critical thinker
  • Detail Oriented and Organized
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables

Education:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelors Degree preferred

Industry Experience:

  • Property & Casualty Insurance license required
  • 5+ years industry experience
  • Ability to maintain high confidentiality
  • Must understand in-depth insurance products and be able to answer in detail coverage questions.
