The Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center provides a safe and restrictive environment for juveniles requiring secure residential detention within the five Florida Parishes. FPJDC is currently looking for a full-time Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Juvenile Detention Staff member! No experience necessary.
This dynamic essential full-time position is entry-level and works a 12-hour shift beginning at 5 a.m. or 5 p.m. with every other weekend off.
The pay for this entry level position begins at $17.17 - $19.74 per hour with opportunities to increase pay based on job performance! New staff who successfully complete a 6-month probationary period can earn $40,000 to $46,000 each year!

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
Our Security Staff provide direct care and constant supervision to the residents. As members of our Operations Department, their primary duty is to assure the safety and security of each juvenile, yet this position is much more dynamic and interactive. Juvenile Detention Staff (JDS) also accompany the residents as they attend school, enjoy recreational time, and dine with their peers. They also implement FPJDC’s therapeutic behavior management program, utilizing basic tenants of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to change criminal thinking. The Bilingual JDS will also translate for Spanish-speaking residents.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:Candidates MUST successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, as listed online at www.FPDJC.org.
