WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN THE LEAD MEDICATION TECHNICIAN

We are looking for a Lead Medication Technician who is dependable, respectful, friendly, and compassionate to assist our residents with their medication and living needs.


RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LEAD MEDICATION TECHNICIAN

Our Medication Technicians are responsible for the health and safety of the residents. Responsibilities of the Lead Medication Technician include:

  • Train new staff members on the role of Medication Technicians and medication management.
  • Audit the medication carts on a routine basis to ensure accurate counts are maintained.
  • Track, order, and dispense medications accurately to about 30 residents.
  • Record blood sugar tests, administer insulin injections, and obtaining resident vitals as directed.
  • Communicate with doctors and family members, including scheduling appointments.
  • Assist with resident care needs to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents.

SCHEDULE OF THE LEAD MEDICATION TECHNICIAN

The Lead Medication Technician's planned schedule is Tuesday through Saturday during the morning shift, from 6:00 AM to 2:15 PM, but is subject to change. This position also shares on-call responsibilities two days per week to ensure appropriate staffing levels.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Experience: 2 or more years as a Medication Technician in an Assisted Living setting.
  2. Be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  3. Be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekend shifts.
  4. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds, aid in resident transfers, walk/stand 80% or more of shifts, and respond to all resident and emergency needs quickly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
