Malibu Coast Animal Hospital (MCAH) is a well-known multi-doctor practice that operates seven days per week. We specialize in general medicine and surgery, orthopedic surgery, endoscopy, laparoscopy, ultrasound, dentistry and dermatology. We also offer therapeutic laser treatment with a K-Laser as well as boarding and bathing for our canine and feline patients.
The Kennel Attendant sees to the needs of our boarding pets and non-veterinary patients and works in cooperation with other team members to ensure that the care of the animals is tended to in a timely and professional manner. Job Duties include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Patient Care
- Daily cleaning and sanitizing of boarding facilities
- Animal Handling and Training (lifting up to 40lbs, on leash walks)
- Grooming (bathing, brushing, trimming nails & anal gland expression)
- Medical Record Keeping
- Client Communication & Tours
- Love and care for all animals

This position requires a minimum of one weekend day of work per week. Knowledge of ezyVet Veterinary and Smartflow software is preferred but not required. Computer experience is preferred but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience in caring for animals, proper restraint techniques
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years old
Skills Needed:
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions
- Effective communication with clients in person and written reports
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Experience with AVImark Veterinary software recommended
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift patients and carry equipment up to 40 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 40 pounds with assistance
- Endure sitting, standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods
- Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment
- Take safety precautions for exposure to toxins, drugs, anesthesia and radiation
Pay Rate: $16.50 - $18.00
