We are looking for a dynamic Marketing & Communications Assistant to join The Learning Center for the Deaf Advancement team.
The Learning Center for the Deaf is a nationally-recognized leader in educational, therapeutic, and community services for deaf and hard of hearing children and adults. Today, we are the largest provider of services to deaf and hard of hearing children in New England, and the largest private employer of deaf individuals in the State of Massachusetts. TLC recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary of being a pioneer in Deaf education, community programs and services. The organization's growth opens many doors to continue expanding its marketing and communications work.
The Marketing and Communications Assistant will work within the organization’s Advancement Office. Over the past two years, TLC’s marketing initiatives have expanded to include multiple social media platforms with more than 6,000 followers; e-newsletter campaigns; community partnerships and outreach; a newly developed and expansive website; increased video work and media relations; and strategic and mission-aligned branding which is the core of TLC’s work.
The primary language of communication on campus is American Sign Language; therefore, the ideal candidate for this position will be fluent in American Sign Language with experience in and respect for Deaf culture. Additionally, The Learning Center for the Deaf provides a range of multilingual services, including supporting a large Spanish-speaking population, and is seeking to hire an individual fluent in written Spanish for this role.
