Description

The   Production Supervisor will plan, coordinate, organize, and control production in the Fancoil department. They will be responsible for efficient production to ensure the right quantity, quality, and costs are achieved. The Production Supervisor will lead the department to meet objectives that will provide a safety oriented, high performance culture in a lean manufacturing environment. 

   

The   Production Supervisor will have several Roles and Responsibilities including,   but not limited to the following:

· Responsible for specific single sector within a department.

· Ensures that inventory listings, costs of goods, production   recoveries, and labor costs are recorded accurately and meet or exceed   pre-established standards.

· Ensures that minimum/maximum inventories are kept at a level that   allows for complete, on time filling of orders, and that correct product for   all productions line are ordered in a timely manner and are kept on-hand in   sufficient quantity.

· Schedules production activity with the highest contribution to   overhead as priority.

· Trains, supervises, motivates, and handles discipline issues for area   of responsibility.

· Sets daily productivity goals, monitors production progress in the   plant, meets or exceeds productions goals.

· Ensures that coordination of productions, warehouse, and shipping   result in efficient, safe and secure operation of the facility.

· Communicates productions goals to department leadership in area of   responsibility.

· Responsible for consistent shift operation according to established   procedures and processes

· Measure of effectiveness will be consistently high ratings on   conducted process and procedure audits.

· Must have working knowledge of all job titles included within scope   of supervision.

· This position is a supervisory position as prescribed by federal and   state statues, and requires experience in hiring; performance evaluations;   work assignments; merit increase, promotion, and reclassification; discipline   and discharge; and complaint and grievance resolution.

· Ensure that manufacturing equipment and employees within the shop   operate in accordance to health, safety and environmental regulations and   procedures.

· Understanding safety and environmental compliance of the department.   Actively participates in safety improvement activities.

· Lead continuous improvement activities within the departments.   Implementation of Lean foundational blocks of Identification of Waste, 5S,   Standard Work, and Visual Management.

· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

· High school diploma, general education degree (GED) acceptable; 2-year degree or technical training preferred; minimum 3-years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Must have a minimum of 2 years in Lean Manufacturing. 

Desired Skills and Attributes:

o Bilingual Spanish a plus.

o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; follow written and/or verbal orders; read, write, speak and comprehend English.

o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Capacity to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving variable in standardized situations; understand fundamental flow of shop material and its problems or material handling.
