The Executive Assistant (EA) to the President and Board of Education is responsible for managing the organization of the Office of the President, supporting the President in local, statewide and national activities, and providing all administrative and clerical support to the Board of Education (Board). The EA reports directly to the President and works closely with the President, the Board, President’s Council and other College staff to provide information and services to the college’s internal and external customers.

As a key element of this position, the employee must excel in working in a fast-paced, highly energized work environment and possess leadership and management skills as well as the ability to know when to utilize them. Also key are team building and team membership skills. The employee must also be able to work effectively with a wide variety of college, community and governmental agencies as a team player. The Assistant must utilize strong computer and Internet research skills. This position also calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal/external management and staff.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. Occasional overnight travel to attend various Board of Education and Presidential conferences will be required. Work during the evening will be required once monthly for Board of Education meetings, and occasionally for other Board or Presidential functions. Periodic local travel and travel from campus to campus may be required.
