General Summary:

South Central Family Health Center has an exciting opportunity for a Peer Support Coordinator. A Peer Support Coordinator uses their lived experience of recovery from mental or substance use disorders, or as a family member of such a person, plus skills learned in formal training, to deliver services in behavioral health settings to promote recovery and resiliency to CCBHC clients. A Peer Support Coordinator facilitates peer groups, connects the client to community-based services, navigates through the program, advocates, models positive recovery strategies/attitudes, provides support to the client and family, participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team, and assists the client in other ways that are consistent with their treatment plan. The Peer Support Coordinator has experience in serving SMI, SED, and Co-Occurring Disorder populations.


Minimum Qualifications:  

High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in the Behavioral Health field preferred. Past or present consumer of mental health or substance abuse services with a history of managing one’s own illness. Successful completion of background screening.
