JOB SUMMARY: Must be able to craft dies, molds, and other various metal tooling for our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be required to interpret design schematics, cut and shape components and assemble the completed parts. You will also need to test the performance of the completed product. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:

Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.

Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.

Setting up machine tools such as Milling machines, lathes, grinders, EDM equipment.

Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.

Fitting and assembling tools and die parts.

Troubleshoot and repairing worn out tools.

Tig welding a plus.

Programming skills a plus.

Requirements

  

Qualification requirements:

To be successful as a Tool and Die Maker, you should have in-depth knowledge of metalworking and engineering, a good eye for detail, and the ability to visualize structural components. A top class tool and die maker is able to translate ides into expertly crafted metal forms ready for the manufacturing process. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma and five years related experience and/or training. Journeymen Card a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
