POSITION OVERVIEW: The Material Handler will be responsible for receiving, delivering and removing incoming and outgoing raw materials to all production departments as required and requested in a timely manner. The Material Handler/ operates forklift, clamp truck, tow tractors, crane, tuggers and train carts as required. Must be an organized self-starter expected to work with little supervision. Must be able to multi task, prioritize duties and requests. Communication skills, both verbal and written are essential to this position.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for personal and personnel safety for the assign production line and make recommendations for improvements to supervision
  • Assemble orders in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Rotate stock according to FIFO system
  • Accurately receive product off the tunnels and prepare put away for organizer
  • Load tractor trailer/trucks
  • Maintain cleanliness of loading docks, storage coolers and shipping desk throughout the shift
  • Operate forklift (including high lift) and electric pallet jack
  • Maintain accurate records of orders built, variety packs built, orders shipped, shrinkage’s and spoilage
  • Maintain cleanliness of loading docks, storage coolers and shipping desk throughout the shift
  • Operate electric pallet jacks, forklifts, docking plates and any other equipment in a responsible manner
  • Provide daily feedback to Shift Supervisor about problems with equipment, building and/or potential safety hazards
  • Report all shortages and damages to the Shift Supervisor for processing
  • Follow all recycling procedures
  • Process damaged/distressed product in a timely manner
  • Operate the pallet wrappers, banding equipment and tape machines
  • Understand and use a handheld PC
  • Understand the functionality of Tekwindows and how it applies to the job tasks for a warehouse 2 associate
  • Understand customer requirements including pallet specs and ti-hi’s
  • Receive raw materials
  • Follow all shipping and safety procedures
  • Follow SOP and GMP guidelines at all times
  • Ability to operate yard horse moving trailers
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years experience in warehouse environment
  • 3 years experience operating forklifts
  • Ability to work in a 8 hour schedule
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a cold environment
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • English proficiency (reading , writing skills)
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints
  • Ability to operate in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt in a changing work environment
  • High reach experience (preferred)
