Job Summary: The Programmer/Analyst V (GIS) will be responsible for a variety of duties in support of the Company’s Virtual OneStop (VOS) system and mapping applications. The Programmer/Analyst V (GIS) will work with other team members in an Agile environment who have responsibility for timely delivery of new development, maintenance incidents, configuration tasks, setup tasks, responding to customer questions, data change requests, and other duties as assigned by the Team Lead.
Note: All new hires will travel to GSI’s headquarters in Palm Harbor, Florida for a week of new hire orientation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs work independently under minimal supervision.
- Maintain web applications.
- Design and build applications using Microsoft .NET Technologies.
- Migrate internally developed applications to latest Microsoft .NET Technologies.
- Troubleshoot and debug development and production issues.
- Perform tests to find system/software defects.
- Follow design specs.
- Applying best practices.
- Read specifications and design software solutions.
- Mentoring.
- Create design specs.
- Interface with subject matter experts to gather requirements.
- Performing technical interviews.
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Experience with Esri software and technology: ArcGIS Online and Enterprise infrastructure (ArcGIS Server)
- Experience with JavaScript and JavaScript libraries: ArcGIS JSAPI, JQuery, Dojo, Angular, NodeJS, Mustache, Bootstrap
- Experience with automating GIS workflows and Enterprise scripting
- Experience with Python scripting
- Experience in the Microsoft Software Environment: MS SQL Server, .NET Framework (C#/Visual Basic), Visual Studio 2010 – 2019
- Experience writing and debugging ASP.NET Web Form applications
- Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server
- 10 years+ in GIS/.NET/JavaScript development
Preferred Experience / Knowledge:
- A degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- Experience with migrating ArcGIS JavaScript web applications from v3 to v4
- Experience with migrating from Python 2.x to 3
- Experience with migrating legacy applications to the .NET platform
- Experience with PowerShell scripting
- Experience with WCF/REST Services, Web API, and Mobile development
- Experience with OWASP secure coding practices and ADA compliance

Qualifications / Certifications:
- A Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- A Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems is a plus.
- MCSD / MCPD Certifications is a plus.
