I. General Summary of Position

To lead and complete daily import monitoring and coordination tasks to meet and exceed customer expectations, in compliance with all relevant regulations and the targets of the company. The individual will work closely with internal and external customers around the globe. 

II. Essential Duties

  • Executes import shipments to maximize margin and efficiency.  
  • Act as the point of contact for overseas offices and agents on shipments importing into the US.
  • Develop and maintain solid professional relationships with vendors and carriers, negotiate for cost-effective services, and support them with operational processes.
  • Provide customer service internally and externally through phone, email and other communication methods. 
  • Build and establishes rapport with International Agents and Partners leading to better communications, support and the potential for reciprocal business.  
  • Ensure carrier performance and compliance according to Company standards.  
  • Identify and investigate problems and provide corrective solutions.
  • Develop and execute timely resolutions to transit delay; notify manager of delays to ensure customer is informed. 
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Operates safely in all conditions.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Manage vendor compliance to customer standards and metrics
  • Mange international supply chain from purchase order inception to freight arrival for all Non-Asia shipments.

  • Previous experience in import/export logistics, freight forwarding, brokerage related or transportation related experience 3+ years required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with focus on supply chain management preferred. 
  • Highly organized; possessing the ability to learn and apply established procedures within a short ramp-up time. 
  • Strong customer service and communication skills; thrives in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office and related technology.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours across all shifts, weekends, etc based upon business operational demands and may be required to operate across various locations.
