1. What is Wood Fruitticher Grocery Company?

Wood Fruitticher Grocery is an independent family owned and operated distributor of food and other restaurant-related products since 1913. From our Birmingham headquarters we serve a territory covering Alabama - as well as Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and southern South Carolina.

Our commitment to meeting needs and exceeding expectations starts with a commitment to our people. They're the reason Wood Fruitticher has one of the industry's highest fill rates. That, and our state-of-the-art, 358,000-sq. ft. facility - equipped with R.F. barcode scanning for error-free receiving, shipping and inventory control.

3. Can I Do the Job? Do I Want the Job?

Our warehouse work requires:

Working Sunday through Thursday afternoon and evening

Lifting up-to-100 pounds

Standing and Walking approximately 100% of the time

Bending and Stooping about 50% of the time,

Working in Hot (Up to 100 degrees) and Freezing (0 degrees in freezer) environment, depending on the season.

Working Long Hours and working Overtime based on workloads, if needed.

Basic Addition, Subtraction and Multiplication Skills

Working at multiple heights up to approximately 30ft


A typical 2nd shift working with Wood Fruitticher may involve:

Picking/selecting orders with scanning software,

Checking orders

Loading trucks,

Replenish stock,

Cleaning and performing housekeeping tasks.


4. How Much Does the Position Pay?

We pay on a weekly basis via direct deposit. Warehouse workers start on a training rate for the first two weeks.


Pickers are paid on a production scale depending on various factors such as:

Hourly case average per day

Errors and shorts pulled per pay

Absences and/or tardiness


Stackers are paid an hourly rate, plus a Case bonus.   


Wood Fruitticher's pay structure allows employees to earn their pay based on how hard and smart they work. The pay structure will be explained in full if you are called for an interview.
