The SBDC is armed with a wealth of assets and a commitment to help small businesses achieve their business goals. We offer one on one small business counseling services and monthly training and workshops. Our goal is to become an inclusive resource for the small business community and level the playing field in the Richmond small business ecosystem.
About Our Host Organization VCC:
Virginia Community Capital is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) with a mission to create jobs, energize places, and promote an enhanced quality of life for Virginians. With offices in Christiansburg, Norfolk, and Richmond, we offer innovative and flexible financing tools throughout the state. In addition, we provide professional advisory services to individuals and organizations in low-to-moderate income and underserved communities.
The Capital Region SBDC is currently seeking a full-time Program Coordinator. The SBDC Program Coordinator will be responsible for all administrative duties concerning center success. The position reports to the SBDC Director and will work closely with Director and Assistant Director to accomplish team tasks.
The coordinator will project manage multiple center events, including SBDC trainings, webinars, partner-sponsored events, and more. The coordinator will also work to maintain communication lines with organization stakeholders and assist with the center’s marketing and client intake process. This is a grant-funded position contingent upon the availability of grant funds. The Capital Region SBDC is part of the Virginia SBDC Network, a partnership program of the U.S. Small Business Administration and George Mason University.
This is a hybrid position working out of the Richmond, VA office and remotely. The service territory includes the City of Richmond and Counties of Goochland, Henrico, Hanover, Town of Ashland, Powhatan, New Kent, Chesterfield. Reliable transportation is required with some anticipated travel. Mileage is reimbursed for travel beyond commute to and from the Richmond office.
Compensation and Benefits:
VCC offers a competitive salary based on experience and skills, as well as an excellent benefits package including health, disability, and life insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer match, and paid time off. The SBDC Program Coordinator salary range is $45,000 – $55,000 based on experience. In addition to salary, this position is eligible for performance-based merit increases.
