Our Sales Representatives are responsible for:

  • Performing sales calls in person, over the phone, and via e-mail
  • Developing a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail activities and networking
  • Managing selling activities to optimize and sustain sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Preparing action plans to identify specific targets and increase market share
  • Preparing presentations, proposals, and sales quotes/contracts
  • Working with customers to resolve problems and provide solutions
  • Seeking and continuously developing knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing and tactics, and communicates this to relevant Company staff
  • Maximizing all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in increased market share
  • Utilizing CRM to follow up on quotes and sells benefits of BPS/Kohler
  • Preparing sizing reports and specifications (working with Engineering Liaison group)
  • Works with Estimators on specifications and quotes
  • Coordinating with Sales Support & Service Team on sale, delivery, and start-up of generators
  • Assisting accounting department with gathering information to aid in payment collection (minimal involvement)

Requirements

Sales Representative Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (Engineering related degree preferred)
  • 2+ yrs industry experience preferred although not mandatory
  • Working knowledge of engines & electricity beneficial
  • 2+ yrs experience in sales desired but not high priority
  • Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
  • Able to read (or learn to read), analyze & interpret engineering specifications, documents & regulations
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability through company insurer
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Must be able to pass background check and periodic drug screens & license checks
