Description

  

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the project
  • Oversee the implementation of project specific construction Quality Plans at job locations
  • Perform project site audits to ensure adherence to company SOPs/policies, project plans and specifications, and confirm as built drawing completions
  • Lead quality investigations on project issues as they arise at construction projects
  • Document construction quality control through the project and maintain reporting requirements including photo documentation and written reports
  • Gather and maintain Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) submittals for applicable projects
  • Lead the communications on customer concerns regarding construction quality and coordinate appropriate adjustments with applicable CMS Construction and Management teams
  • Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and contacting supervisory personnel
  • Safety orientation for all on site personnel including sub-contractors
  • Conduct work area inspections and audits
  • Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities
  • Investigate all on site property damage and personal injury situations and make recommendations for corrective action
  • Review documentation to insure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures, and implement appropriate corrective action as required
  • Accompany all safety, health and insurance inspectors on walk through tours. Coordinate / assist in preparing written appeals for safety violation citations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

  

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and 2 or more years project related construction experience; or
  • An Associate’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Science and 4 or more years project related construction experience; or
  • A High School diploma and 6 or more years related field construction experience.
  • United States Army Corps of Engineers, Construction Quality Management class (within the last 5 years)
  • Minimum 5-7 years of documented safety work experience on construction projects (federal projects preferred); Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • CHST, CSP or STS a plus
  • 30- Hour OSHA Construction safety class within last 5 years
  • Have an average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years
  • Strong knowledge of EM-385-1-1 and OSHA
  • Knowledge in Civil construction preferred
  • CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogen, Excavation/Trenching, Confined Space, Competent Person, and Fall Protection Training preferred

  • Excellent communicator and author of reports for quality control and safety documentation
  • Knowledge of construction related technologies, safety and quality activities and safety and quality auditing. Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering design drawings, specifications, and applicable technical instructions, plans and reports
  • Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other applicable web based programs
  • Strong Communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company regulations
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures is essential 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Works under the direct supervision of the Director, Quality Control 
  • Coordinates subcontractor and other trade quality control members
  • Reports directly to the Corporate Health and Safety Director and CEO
