The Controller manages the company’s accounting department. This position is exempt under the FLSA and reports to the Director of Operations.


Lead, Manage, Accountability (LMA)

  • Cascades the company’s vision and provides clear direction.
  • Removes barriers so that the company’s vision is achievable.
  • Recruits, selects, onboards, and trains employees.
  • Provides expectations and holds employees accountable to meeting these expectations.
  • Manages employees’ performance, conducts performance reviews, and partners with HR on other performance decisions.
  • Creates/provides opportunities for employees’ growth and development.

Accounting/Financial Operations

  • Oversees the financial operations of the company. 
  • Identifies, acquires, and implements systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information to the company.
  • Owns and oversees banking, auditing, tax, and consulting relationships.

Financial Information & Analysis

  • Provides accurate and timely financial information.
  • Leads the annual budget process, providing insights and recommendations to support growth.
  • Ensures there are performance measures and monitoring systems to support the company’s strategic direction.
  • Leads the annual audit process, working with external auditors on informational requests. Resolves audit findings and ensures company’s control environment eliminates risk.
  • Protects and maintains confidentiality of the company’s and employees’ financial information. 

Accounts Payable

  • Ensures vendors are paid timely and all appropriate discounts are taken.
  • Ensures inventory is accurately reflected through various inventory control procedures.
  • Ensures all payments/expenses are recorded accurately and timely in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensures accurate reporting and payment to all taxing authorities. 

Accounts Receivable

  • Maintains strong controls with the company’s various financial institutions.
  • Ensures monthly reconciliations are completed accurately and timely. 
  • Provides guidance on the company’s collection process. 
  • Ensures all revenues are recorded accurately and timely in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensures the company accurately invoices customers for work completed.
  • Ensures the company timely collects payment. 


  • Partners with the leadership team to develop effective commission and bonus plans. 
  • Ensures employees are paid accurately and timely. 
  • Ensures accurate reporting and payment to all taxing authorities.
  • Ensures payroll information is recorded into the accounting system in accordance with GAAP. 



Accountant / Accounting Assistant



  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, payroll, taxes, and related principles and practices.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to detect/recognize information in written materials and on computer screen 75-100% of time.
  • Ability to operate personal computer and programs. 
  • Ability to prepare income statements, balance sheets, and similar financial reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA is desirable) and 5+ years of experience as an accounting generalist or similar role OR a combination of education and experience that illustrates a proven track record in this field.
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects, maintaining a stationary position most of the time.
