Description

Responsible for officiating and controlling games, events, and competitions in a confident and appropriate manner. Ensure all participants understand and comply with game rules and assess penalties when needed. Make game calls with confidence and knowledge of league rules. Keep track of event start times and start or stop play as necessary. Make sure the teams have the appropriate equipment and inspect both players and equipment for any issues.


Must be 16 years old or older.


Starting Pay

$8.65 to $10.65 per hour DOE


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate with staff and public.
  • Ability to resolve customer service issues with adults and children.
  • Transport self to and from various sites and terrains.
  • Monitor supplies.
  • Participate in training and teaching of recreational players, coaches, officials, and parents.
  • Ensure that all proper checklists and documents are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Officiate youth sports games and know the rules to the game officiating.
  • Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations involved with building.
  • Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with the Family Fitness Center personnel, management, vendors, and service providers.
  • Assist with cleaning and custodial duties.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
  • Basic general knowledge of sports gained by playing, officiating, or coaching is preferred.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Able to follow directions and work well independently.
  • Ability to maintain courteous, effective relations with patrons, coaches, and members of the public.

Education and/or Experience

  • General sports knowledge gained by playing, officiating, or coaching preferred, training will be provided.

Language Skills

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Spanish (preferred).

  • Run/stand for at least 4 hours.
  • Talk to adults/coaches & children.
  • Manage time.
  • Multitask.
  • Deal with weather conditions.
