General Studies Adjunct - English

Description

Under the direction of the Dean of Academics, the English Adjunct Faculty provides on-ground instruction in English Composition, English Composition w/Research, and Critical Thinking. Instructors review course syllabi (courses are pre-developed in Canvas), present lessons, develop presentation materials as needed, communicate with faculty leads on subject matter, and evaluate students’ progress.

Responsibilities:

1. Enhance instructional materials to facilitate student learning outcomes for the course. 

2. Collect all assessment data related to student learning outcomes. 

3. Maintain an equitable system of student evaluation based on sound practices in accordance with the course syllabus. 

4. Return all graded assignments in a reasonable time frame according to South College Faculty Expectations. 

5. Project an appropriate professional image. 

6. Enforce and follow all South College rules and policies.

Requirements

  

· Minimum of a master’s degree in relevant English field

· Prior teaching experience preferred 

· Proficient in the written and oral communication of the English language 

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
