Art Teacher or Art Teacher Apprentice (Lone Tree, CO)
Job Type
Full-time
Description

Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County seeks a grammar school Art teacher, or a motivated individual dedicated to learning the craft of teaching, to be an Apprentice Art Teacher for its K-12 Lone Tree campus in the south Denver metropolitan area.

At Ascent Classical Academies, teachers create their own lessons within the framework set by our content-rich curriculum, in collaboration with colleagues and in partnership with Hillsdale College's Barney Charter School Initiative. Teachers are dedicated to mastering the key elements of their instruction and to the intellectual and moral betterment of their students.  Ascent Classical Academies teachers take seriously their own moral and intellectual improvement, as part of a hard-working, supportive, and excellence-driven culture.

Not only does the study of the Arts help bring about the formation of a virtuous soul, but its explicit focus on Beauty makes it one of the most enriching disciplines for a Classically educated student. It trains the eye to see Beauty, the mind to understand Beauty, and the heart to love truly beautiful things. Students of the fine arts become critical observers of the world around them, seeking harmony, balance, and loveliness. This training of the heart and soul is a central reason why students at ACA are exposed to the Arts throughout grammar school, and are required to take a Fine art Elective in the early Upper School.
