Title: Data & Evaluation Associate

Reports to: Data and Evaluation Specialist


Organization Overview:

The Steppingstone Foundation prepares students from marginalized communities to access, navigate, and graduate from college through two initiatives, the Steppingstone Scholars Program and the National Partnership for Educational Access (NPEA). The Steppingstone Scholars Program is a direct-service program in Boston that provides academic, social-emotional, and college-readiness services to students, called Scholars, beginning as early as fifth grade and continuing all the way through college graduation. The Steppingstone Scholars Program consists of five components: Admissions, the Academy, Middle School Success, High School Success, and College Success. NPEA connects the people, practices, and innovations for eliminating barriers to educational access, and college and career success for underserved students.


Position Overview:

The Data & Evaluation Associate is a member of the Data and Evaluation team and will work closely with the Data & Evaluation Specialist, the Chief Program Officer, and all program teams to collect, analyze, and maintain data to ensure program success. The Data & Evaluation Associate will also support the transition from Steppingstone’s legacy CRM to the Salesforce CRM platform. In this role, there will be opportunities to create new tools, contribute to data governance structures, and occasionally assist non-program teams with data projects.


This position will be a hybrid role with two days in office and three days remotely, with flexibility around work hours. A $500 home office set-up stipend will be provided upon hire, followed by quarterly stipends of $50. Laptops are provided to each employee to enhance the hybrid experience.


Start Date: April 2022

Salary: $45,000 - $49,000


Responsibilities:

  • Collect and organize Student, Family, and School data
  • Support Steppingstone Staff in transitioning their data and processes to Salesforce
  • Collaborate with program departments to identify and organize key metrics
  • Create reports to support grant reporting
  • Perform univariate and bivariate data analysis
  • Design Staff, Family, and Scholar Surveys
  • Create and present data visualizations
Requirements

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated commitment to educational and racial equity in college access and success
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with expert skills in Excel and Google Sheets (vlookup, conditional formatting, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of data cleaning and governance practices
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in Salesforce, Python, Tableau and survey design


Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science or related field
  • Relevant coursework or professional experience working with quantitative and/or qualitative data
