A CNC machinist operates, produces, and repairs precision parts and instruments by programming or editing programs, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. You should have an aptitude for trigonometry, geometry, statistics, and algebra, computer, and interpersonal communication skills, physical stamina and a highly developed interest in production and processing.

Essential Functions:
Under minimal supervision, programs, sets-up and operates CNC machinery to fabricate metallic parts.
Programs, sets-up, operates and troubleshoots CNC mills machines without assistance, maintains quality and safety standards, keeps records, and maintain stools and supplies.
Estimates jobs, calculates labor, material and run time.
Programs and uses GibbsCam software.
Sets up production/prototype job, edits G-code program, assists in designing fixtures.
Completes production paperwork documents and Quality Control.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control.
Starts, runs, and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
Plans machining by reading and understanding Work Orders and any associated blueprints and drawings and produce parts maintaining all required specifications.
Estimates time and materials for job quoting.
Independently sets up jobs and process them to specification.
Manufactures within tight tolerances.
Inspects all machined pieces 100%.
Keeps Machine and workplace clean and neat.
Maintains data sheets and part traceability.
Maintains acceptable attendance record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate in Machine Shop Technology or Machine Tool Technology/Machinist.
- 3-5+ years of CNC Mill machining experience.
- Strong experience in CNC Mill machines (HAAS, TOYODA, or FEELER).
- Strong experience GibbsCam software programming, necessary.
- Able to read and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Self-starter, ability to work with little supervision.
