Purchasing Assistant

KEB America, Inc. located in Shakopee, MN is currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant! 

The purchasing assistant is responsible for supporting the purchasing department through performance of administrative functions. 


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


· Obtain price and delivery quotes and place orders for hardware items, bar stock, shipping supplies, manuals, etc. from local vendors.

· Enter/update pricing into SAP

· Create and send manual purchase orders for non-stock items (eg. tools, supplies, etc.)

· Monitor stock levels of hardware items, bar stock, shipping supplies, manuals, etc.

· Follow up on or expedite purchase orders 

· Update purchase orders in SAP to reflect date changes resulting from follow-up

· Obtain and enter purchase order confirmations from suppliers to SAP

· Maintain invoices, quotes, confirmations, and other vendor-related documents in the document store

· Assist in new part creation

· Fill out certain forms (eg. tax exempt form, etc.)

· Special purchasing/procurement- related planning projects/tasks as assigned 

· Follow safety rules and keep clean/orderly work area

· Perform other duties as required or assigned



Reports directly to the Purchasing Manager




The requirements listed below are representative of the education, certifications, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education / Experience  

· A.S. or B.S. with an emphasis in business or administration  or

· Minimum of three years of experience in a related field

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office

· Basic math skills (standard and metric)

· Ability to follow work instructions accurately

· Ability to do accurate work at a rapid pace

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal) 

· Ability to work well independently as well as with others

· Ability to multi-task

· Ability to proficiently read and write in English
