Description
As a Senior Project Manager in BBG’s Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Assessment Services Division, you will apply your environmental knowledge and experience to write and review environmental reports of multifamily and healthcare facility properties for national lenders and other clientele. This position entails providing solid recommendations and solutions to Directors and clients, while understanding the assessment’s potential impact on HUD transaction processes. Candidate will be adept at conducting research and generating comprehensive Phase I ESA reports that adhere to ASTM E1527-13 standards as well as HUD's Part 50 and Part 58 environmental review requirements. These reports are critical for identifying potential or existing environmental contamination liabilities, particularly for projects that receive HUD funding or require HUD approval. A Senior Project Manager is expected to be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, and peers and is expected to assist in the training of junior staff as needed.
Role and Responsibilities
· Have knowledge and stay current with updates to federal, state, local, and HUD-specific environmental regulations and guidelines
· Coordinate with environmental scientists, engineers, and other technical experts, on projects involving HUD regulations.
· Prepare technical reports, including ESA and HEROS, Noise Assessments, and 5- and 8-Step Process Reports
· Review technical reports written by others on HUD Group team, including ESA and HEROS, Noise Assessments, and 5- and 8-Step Process Reports
· Provide recommendations for further environmental investigation or remediation where necessary/warranted
· Complete specific project tasks according to deadlines and within budget;
· Conduct project research as applicable to scope of work (historical, analytical, etc.)
· Prepare quality supporting documents (site figures, appendices, etc.)
· Maintain communication with team members throughout the course of the project
· Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones to ensure project progress status is on schedule
· Identify and resolve issues with projects
· Manage multiple projects
· Deliver outstanding?client service with?timely responses and proactive solutions.
Qualification and Education Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in biological/physical/environmental sciences, or related field
· 5 or more years of relevant experience with HUD Phase I ESA Reports, HEROS Reporting System, as well as HUD Part 50 and 58 environmental reviews.
This position requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Skills
· Passion for being detail oriented and highly organized
· Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and HUD HEROS System;
· Proficient in GIS, GPS, mapping tools, and environmental database software; Experience with Quire is a plus
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
