Bizzell Global, a division of The Bizzell Group LLC (Bizzell), a management consulting firm with a fast-growing international development portfolio that specializes in monitoring, evaluation, and learning; global health, youth, and economic development, is seeking experienced Social and Behavioral Scientists as part of a CDC contract to provide technical and professional support to Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America Country office. The consent shall include services and support of communication, epidemiology, immunization, vaccine preparedness, infection prevention and control, and social and behavioral science activities. The Positions are based in Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America.
- Provide technical advice for polio eradication activities (such as immunization campaigns or supplemental immunizations) or other vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles.
- Provide technical assistance in strengthening the AFP and VPD surveillance systems and coordinating and evaluating surveillance activities.
- Conduct assessments of outbreak status, response effectiveness, and the likelihood of continuing polio transmission and other VPDs (e.g., measles).
- Train implementing partners on evaluating and documenting outbreak response activities to ensure that all lessons learned are effectively incorporated into current best practices.
- Participate in activities designed to promote polio, measles, and other emerging vaccine-preventable disease eradication, routine immunization, data quality, and surveillance of new vaccines.
- Attend meetings and webinars with international and local partners to stay abreast of the most current developments in the outbreak and the status of worldwide eradication.
- Document, incorporate and share lessons learned and best practices developed during work on polio eradication projects with country and field staff.
- Analyze World Health Organization (WHO) for Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America partner’s epidemiologic data related to VPD surveillance, disease transmission, and outbreaks for documentation, data management, and legacy planning.
- Analyze epidemiological data and work with Ministries of Health (MOH) and other international organizations (NGOs and other Public Health organizations) to find solutions to problems that arise in polio eradication and VPD program implementation and outbreak response will be implemented to strengthen immunization practices at the district and national level.
- Provide technical advice regarding the training and fieldwork of National Stop Transmission of Polio (NSTOP) and Stop Transmission of Polio (STOP) teams.
- Provide technical advice regarding data collection activities in operational research, including integration projects in polio-endemic countries and countries with the transmission of polio, to assist with the analysis of the data collection and surveillance efforts during SIAs and routine immunization activities in the country.
- Participate with Polio Eradication Branch team leads in developing and implementing field project plans addressing routine immunization, data quality or surveillance, outbreak investigation, and vaccination campaigns. Use historical polio data to improve outreach activities.
- Develop strategies to integrate polio surveillance with VPD surveillance. Engage with community service organizations to improve outreach activities.

Qualifications:
- MPH/Epidemiology and MD, DVM, or other related Doctorate
- International experience in leading polio eradication activities, particularly in outbreak response in complex settings.
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in vaccine practices and community-based surveillance activities.
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience training diverse and large groups in the MoH community on surveillance, immunization, and new vaccine introduction.
- Multilingual. English is a must; French or Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to pass a background / criminal check (Position may require fingerprinting and drug screening).
