Candidate Text Messaging Privacy Procedure  

  1. Overview 

D.A. Blodgett- St. John’s (“the company”, “we”, “our” or “us”) utilizes an external text messaging platform to communicate with job applicants (“candidates”) regarding the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it is protected, and the rights candidates have related to text messaging communications.  

By providing your mobile phone number to the Company and opting in to receive text messages, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.  

  1. Information We Collect  

When you choose to receive text messages from us, we may collect:  

  • Mobile phone number provided by you during the application process or through other communications channels.  
  • Message content, including messages you send to use and messages we send to you.  
  • Delivery and engagement data, such as whether a message was delivered, opened, or responded to.  

We do not use text messages for marketing or promotional purposes.  

  1. How We Use Text Messaging Information  

Text messaging is used solely for recruitment-related purposes, which may include:  

  • Confirming receipt of your application 
  • Scheduling interviews or assessments  
  • Sending reminders, updates, or instructions regarding your application  
  • Communicating next steps in the hiring process 
  • Providing onboarding information if you are hired  

We will not use text messages for marking or promotional purposes.

Candidates may opt out at any time (see Section 7)

  • Services Providers: we use a secure, third-party text messaging service to send and receive messages. This provider processes data on our behalf and is bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.  
  • Legal Compliance: If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights or safety of the Company, employees or others.  

We do not sell candidate information, including mobile numbers or messaging data.  

  1. Data Security 

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity and security of all information transmitted via text message. These measures may include;  

  • Encryption where applicable  
  • Access controls for authorized personnel only 
  • Secure data storage by our messaging provider  

Desipte these measures, electronic communication carries inherent risks and cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  

  1. Opt-Out Instructioins 

You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying:  

“STOP”  

Once you opt out, you will no longer receive recruitment-related text messages, though we may continue to contact you via email or phone as needed for your application.  

If you wish to opt by in, you may replay:  

”START” or “UNSTOP” (Depending on carrier instructions)  

  1. Data Retention  

We retain text message data only for as long as necessary to:  

  • Complete the recruitment process 
  • Meet legal, audit, or compliance requirements  
  • Maintain records consistent with company policy   

After retention periods expire, data is securely deleted or anonymized.  

  1. Candidate Rights  

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:  

  • Access to your personal information 
  • Correction of inaccurate information  
  • Request for deletion of your information  
  • Withdrawal of consent for text messaging

I understand that message and data rates may apply, that participation is voluntary, and that I may opt out at any time by replaying STOP.
