The Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina (“PCSC”) is committed to safeguarding the personal data entrusted to us by all individuals seeking to join the PCSC team. PCSC may collect different types of personal data, in accordance with applicable laws, throughout the application, interview, offer, and onboarding process.
Most of the personal data we collect comes directly from the applicant, but we may also obtain data from third parties such as background check providers, references, previous employers, and social media sites such as LinkedIn. The type of personal data we collect includes but is not limited to:
· Contact information, such as name, telephone number, physical address, and email;
· Previous work experience, compensation, education, degrees, language, and other skills and employment-related information;
· Professional and other work-related licenses, permits, and certifications;
· Work authorization status;
· Information relating to references; and
· Any other information you elect to provide to us (e.g., employment preferences, willingness to relocate, and desired salary).
PCSC uses the personal data we collect about applicants for one or more of the following employment-related purposes:
· Determining eligibility for employment, including verifying qualifications, providing and/or validating references, and completing criminal and background screenings, based on position requirements.
· Compliance with legal obligations including, but not limited to, eligibility to work in the United States, disputes related to our hiring practices, preventing fraud, or complying with applicable laws and regulations.
· Ensuring that certain applicants meet the described minimum educational, experience, certification(s) and/or licensure(s) required for certain positions.
PCSC will only use an applicant’s personal data as permitted by law and for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we need to use it for other reasons which are compatible with the original purpose. PCSC will not share an applicant’s personal data with third parties, except to obtain necessary legal advice and support. Further, we do not use artificial intelligence tools (“AI”) to review or screen applicant information.
We protect applicant personal data by limiting access to authorized personnel to prevent loss, misuse, and unauthorized disclosure, modification, or access. Additionally, PCSC seeks to ensure that third parties that we partner with to process applicant personal data demonstrate equally comparable controls to further ensure the security of your personal data.
PCSC maintains personal data only as long as needed to fulfill obligations of the application process, for legal requirements, or other business needs.
