At raSmith, we are committed to safeguarding the privacy of our clients, candidates, and website visitors. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information obtained through our recruitment process and website.
 

Information Collection:
We collect personal information through various channels, including but not limited to:

  • Name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and other contact information;
  • Résumé, cover letter, application forms, previous work experience, skills and educational degrees;
  • Professional and other work-related licenses, permits and certifications held;
  • Professional references;
  • And any other information you elect to provide to us (e.g., employment preferences, willingness to relocate, desired salary, awards or professional memberships);
  • Work authorization status; 
  • Username and password reset functions; 
  • Since raSmith is a federal contractor, we are required to collect information about candidate race/ethnicity, gender, disability status and veteran status. This information is not provided to hiring teams and is not viewed by human resources when reviewing candidate qualifications.

We will limit access to the other information provided to individuals who need to know the information for the purposes described in this Policy, including hiring teams and human resources employees.
 

‍As a candidate, you are under no obligation to provide data to raSmith during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide the information, we may not be able to process your application properly or at all.
 

Use of Information:

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To match candidates with suitable job opportunities.
  • To communicate with candidates regarding recruitment processes.
  • To improve our services and customize the experience for our users.
  • To comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

If we anticipate an offer of employment to be made, we will contact the professional references you provided. When you provide us with personal information of a reference or any other individual as part of your application, it is your responsibility to obtain consent from that individual prior to providing the information to us.

If you accept an offer from us, we instruct a third party to contact you via the email address provided to conduct a background screening. They will contact you to request authorization for the release of your information, and at that time you will be provided with further information about the process and what personal data it might involve.

If you are not selected for your applied position, we will keep your application to allow us to consider you for other suitable openings with our Company in the future.
 

Your Rights:
You have the right to access and request that we correct inaccurate information you provided through your application process.  

Starting January 1, 2023, Californians have the right to know whether we are processing your personal information, and in some instances, you have the right to request that we disclose to you the categories listed below for the preceding 12 months.  We have the right to request verification of your identity for all requests for information.  In responding to this right, we shall provide to you:

  • The categories and pieces of personal information we collect about you.
  • The categories of sources from which your personal information is collected. 
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share your personal information.
  • The business or commercial purpose(s) for collecting, selling, sharing, or disclosing your personal information, and the categories of personal information disclosed for such purpose(s).
  • The categories of personal information we have sold, if any, about you and the categories of third parties to whom your personal information was sold, by category or categories of personal information for each third party to whom the personal information was sold.  However, please note that raSmith does not sell any personal information about you.

In addition, you have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information or delete your personal information. You also retain the right to non-discrimination and non-retaliation for exercising your CCPA rights.


Accuracy of Information You Provide: 

Any information you provide through our recruitment process must be true, complete, and not misleading.  Purposely providing inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information may lead to rejection of your application during the application process or, if identified after employed with the company, disciplinary action including immediate termination of employment.  In addition, it is your responsibility to ensure that information you provide does not violate any third party’s rights.
 

Information Sharing:

We do not share, sell, or rent personal info with any third parties.
 

Data Security:

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.  These measures are designed to help ensure that our processing of your personal data complies with this Privacy Notice and applicable law. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
 

Third-party websites:

This Policy does not address, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, information or other practices of any third parties, including any third party operating any website used in our recruitment process. Candidates are encouraged to read the privacy policies or terms of use of those sites when accessing those sites.

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any updates.
