Job Candidate Privacy Notice
The purpose of this Job Candidate Privacy Notice is to inform individuals who inquire about and/or apply for employment with Community Savings of the categories of Personal Information (as defined below) that we collect from candidates, how we’ll use that information, who we’ll share it with, the circumstances when we’ll share it and what steps we’ll take to make sure it stays private and secure.
About this Notice
Community Savings = Community Savings, its banking and non-banking U.S. affiliates and subsidiaries and service providers (collectively, "Community Savings ", "we", "our").
You/Your = Candidates and applicants (including their agents and representatives).
For purposes of this Job Candidate Privacy Notice, “Personal Information” is information that relates to an identified or identifiable person. Personal Information does not include de-identified, aggregated or combined information, which includes data that is not reasonably capable of identifying an individual or being linked to an individual.
Categories of Personal Information Collected
Community Savings may collect the following categories of Personal Information about candidates when they inquire about and/or apply for employment with Community Savings:
· Contact information, such as the candidate’s name, home and work address, personal and work telephone numbers, personal and work email addresses
· Job-related information and qualifications, such as the position applied for, previous job roles, education, qualifications, licenses, assessment results, and any other information a candidate may choose to provide in the candidate’s résumé and/or employment application (“Application”)
· National identification information, such as the candidate’s citizenship, any visa or other right to work information, passport information, driver’s license or ID card, social security number, and birth certificate
· Diversity/Sensitive information, such as the candidate’s ethnicity/race, health, disability status, veteran status, gender and sexual orientation
· Results of background checks and screening, such as criminal records and education verification results
· References, such as opinions and comments of any previous employers or coworkers
Purposes for Using and Disclosing Personal Information
Community Savings may collect, use or disclose the categories of Personal Information identified above for the following purposes:
· to evaluate the candidate’s qualifications for employment and suitability for certain job roles (to the extent permitted by law) and to verify the accuracy of the information the candidate provided on the candidate’s Application;
· to determine the candidate’s eligibility to work;
· to request criminal history, background and employment checks:
· to communicate with you regarding your job application, your inquiries and requests, other job openings, important notices;
· to comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including to fulfill Community Savings’ obligations to report to relevant government authorities;
· to establish or defend legal claims and allegations; and
· to seek advice from lawyers, auditors and other professional advisers.
Categories of Third Parties to whom we disclose Personal Information for Business Purposes
We disclose personal information for the business purposes described above. When we disclose personal information for a business purpose, we enter a contract that describes the purposes and requires the recipient to both keep that personal information confidential and not use it for any purpose except performing the contract.
We disclose your personal information for a business purpose to the following categories of third parties:
· Our affiliates.
· Service providers that act on our behalf, such as data storage providers, email providers, and advisors.
· Third parties to whom you or your agents authorize us to disclose your personal information.
· Where necessary to comply with applicable law, to respond to requests from law enforcement agencies or other government authorities or third parties, as permitted by law, and without your consent when it is necessary to protect our customers, employees, or property; in emergency situations; or to enforce our rights under our terms of service and policies.
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides California residents with the right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
Community Savings does not offer an opt-out from the sale or sharing of personal information because we do not engage in the sale or sharing of personal information as contemplated by the CCPA.
Children’s Information
We do not knowingly “sell” or “share” information regarding children under the age of 13.
Retaining your Information
Community Savings retains Personal Information collected for as long as we have a relationship with you or the business you represent, consistent with our record retention policies and as required by law.
Securing your Information
We take our responsibility to protect your information very seriously. We use physical, technical, and procedural safeguards that comply with applicable legal standards to secure your information from unauthorized access and use, alteration, and destruction.
