First Community Bank – Applicant Portal Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy for Job Applicants describes how First Community Bank (“we,” “us,” or “our”) processes information in connection with our employment recruiting activities. We use a third-party vendor, Paylocity, to facilitate our job application and hiring process. This Privacy Policy is primarily intended to inform you of the information we collect, how we use it, and your consumer rights over your own information and data. 1. Information We Collect

When you apply for a job with us, we may collect certain information from and about you in order to evaluate and process that application. This information may include: 

  • Contact information, such as name, telephone number, fax number, physical address, email, and username; 
  • Previous work experience, compensation, education, degrees, language, and other skills and employment-related information; 
  • Professional and other work-related licenses, permits, and certifications; 
  • Awards and professional memberships; 
  • Work authorization status; 
  • Information relating to references; 
  • Information from social media sites if you choose to link your application to a social media; and 
  • Any other information you elect to provide to us (e.g., demographic information, employment preferences, willingness to relocate, and desired salary). 

Sensitive Personal Information

Certain types of information are considered sensitive personal information in certain jurisdictions, dependent on the governing state data privacy law. This includes the following: information on race, religion, ethnicity, nationality or national origin, age, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, criminal convictions and offenses, marital status, medical or health information (including disability status), genetic or biometric information, religious or philosophical beliefs, political party or trade union membership, background check information, social security number, driver’s license number, and veteran status.  

 

We only collect sensitive information through our applicant portal to the extent that you voluntarily choose to share this information with First Community Bank. Our application process generally does not elicit this information and in no event requires you to share this information with First Community Bank. If you accept an employment position at First Community Bank, we may obtain certain sensitive personal information from you, like your social security number or banking information as needed for payroll, and we safeguard all of our employees’ personal information with commercially reasonable cybersecurity practices. 

 

2. How We Use Information

The information that you submit through our application portal may be used to screen, identify, and select candidates for employment with First Community Bank. We may use this information to analyze your qualifications for the position you applied for or to consider you for future openings within First Community Bank. We may also use this information to contact you and communicate with you regarding your job application, job openings, or for other notices from time to time. If offered a position with First Community Bank, we may use your information to complete a background check, an employment check, or a criminal history check. We may also use your information as necessary to comply with legal process as required by relevant law or regulation.  

 

3. Accuracy of Information You Provide

You are responsible for the information you provide to First Community Bank and ensuring that it is honest, truthful, accurate, and not misleading in any way. 

 

4. Information Security

Please be aware that once you click “view our openings” on the careers page of the First Community Bank website, you will be brought to our applicant portal which is hosted and operated by a different company, Paylocity. Paylocity represents in their privacy policy, linked above, that they implement the appropriate organizational, technical, and physical security measures and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the personal information entrusted to Paylocity. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with Paylocity is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of any account you might have with Paylocity has been compromised), please immediately notify Paylocity of the problem by contacting them at privacy@paylocity.com.  You may also notify First Community Bank at careers@fcbinc.com, and we will attempt to resolve the situation with Paylocity on your behalf. 

 

Children Under the Age of 16

Our applicant portal is not intended for children under 16 years of age. No one under age 16 will be considered for employment with First Community Bank. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 via our applicant portal. If you are under age 16, do not use or provide any information on this applicant portal. 

 

How We Disclose or Share Your Information 

We will never share or sell your personal information that you submit through our website with any third party, except in the following circumstances when disclosure may be necessary to the hiring process:

  • We may share your information with a third party who to conduct a background check prior to your employment with us.
  • We may share your information with Paylocity, which is our trusted vendor that hosts our application portal.
  • We may share your information for other legitimate and necessary business purposes, upon obtaining your affirmative consent to do so. 

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

If you believe that information that you have submitted to First Community Bank via our applicant portal may be incorrect, please email us at careers@fcbinc.com to request access to your data and to correct or delete any of your personal information. 

 

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy policy on this page. We also maintain a privacy policy for our general website, separate from this applicant portal privacy policy, that can be found on our website. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you through a conspicuous notice at the top of our privacy statement, which includes the date the privacy policy was last revised.
