Notice of Privacy Practices for Job Applicants
1. Introduction
Public Service Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of our candidates during the recruitment process. This policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect the personal information submitted by job applicants. If an applicant is conditionally offered employment by the Credit Union and that offer is accepted, then the Credit Union will collect additional personal information.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information from candidates in order to evaluate and process that application:
- Contact information, such as name, alias, telephone number, fax number, physical address, and email address
- Previous work experience, compensation, education, degrees, languages spoken, professional qualifications, training courses, and other skills and employment-related information
- Professional and other work-related licenses, permits and certifications
- Work authorization status
- Social security numbers or other similar identification numbers
- Driver’s license or other identification numbers
- Information relating to references
- Information related to leisure activities or membership in voluntary associations
- Information from social media sites if you choose to link your application to a social media; and
- Any other information you elect to provide us (e.g., employment preferences, willingness to relocate, and desired salary)
3. How We Use Your Information
We may use your personal information for the following purposes:
- To evaluate your qualifications for the job you applied for or future jobs that may match your profile
- To communicate with you about your application, your inquiries and requests, other job openings, or important notices
- To conduct interviews and assessments
- To check references or otherwise verify information
- To conduct criminal history, background, credit, and employment checks, if we offer you a position
- To comply with legal obligations
