Scope

This policy explains how Power Utility Products Company collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information from individuals applying for jobs with us. It applies to all job applicants residing in the United States.

  • Any additional information you choose to provide

Please do not include sensitive personal data (e.g., Social Security Number, financial information, medical records, or protected characteristics beyond those requested) unless necessary and legally permitted.

If you provide personal data about someone else (such as a reference), please confirm that you have their permission to do so.


2. Sources of Personal Information

We may collect applicant information from:

  • You directly (e.g., job application, resume, interviews)
  • Recruiting agencies or job boards
  • Publicly available sources (e.g., LinkedIn, professional portfolios)
  • References or former employers
  • Background check providers (when applicable)
  • Government agencies or public records (e.g., licensing authorities)

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell or “share” applicant personal information (as defined under CPRA) for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Data Retention

If you are not hired, we will retain applicant data for up to three (3) years after your last activity, or longer if required for legal, regulatory, or auditing purposes.

If you are hired, your application data becomes part of your employee file and is retained under our employee data retention policy.

 

6. California Privacy Rights (for CA Residents)

If you live in California, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA:

  • Right to Know what personal information we collect and how we use it
  • Right to Access specific personal data we hold
  • Right to Correct inaccuracies
  • Right to Delete your data, subject to exceptions
  • Right to Limit the use of sensitive personal information (e.g., demographic data)

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures, technical, administrative, and physical—to protect personal data from loss, unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. Access is limited to personnel with a legitimate business need.
 

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as laws evolve or our practices change. The most recent version will always be posted on our applicant portal or careers page. Significant changes will be communicated where required by law.
