VIR LAUNDRY ATTENDANT
Description

Responsibilities:

 

Laundry Processing:

  • Sort, wash, dry and fold laundry items such as linens, towels and uniforms.
  • Help strip rooms
  • Operate industrial laundry machines, dryers, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect items for stains, damage, or repairs and ensure all items are cleaned to a high standard.
  • Fold and package clean laundry for proper storage or delivery.
  • Stocking and Inventory Management:
    • Maintain inventory of laundry supplies (e.g., detergents, fabric softeners, cleaning products) and housekeeping supplies (e.g., cleaning chemicals, paper products, toiletries, cleaning tools).
    • Stock and organize laundry and housekeeping supplies to ensure they are readily available when needed.
    • Monitor stock levels of both laundry and housekeeping supplies, and notify the Resort Manager when inventory is low or when orders need to be placed.
    • Ensure that extra stock of clean linens, towels, uniforms, and other housekeeping items are stored in appropriate areas and are ready for use.
    • Keep track of any damaged or worn-out linens, towels, or housekeeping supplies that need to be replaced or repaired.
  • General Maintenance and Organization:
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry room, housekeeping supply closets, and storage areas.
    • Ensure laundry equipment and cleaning tools are properly maintained and report any issues to the resort manager.
    • Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures, including handling chemicals and maintaining equipment.
    • Assist in the transportation of laundry to and from various areas if needed.
    • May assist with special laundry requests (e.g., delicate fabrics, special treatment for stains).
Requirements

Requirements: 

  • Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping environment is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy loads.
  • Basic understanding of laundry detergents, cleaning products, and housekeeping supplies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management.
  • Ability to track and manage inventory effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with other staff or departments.
  • Must be able to work Weekends
