Servers at Crystal Tree Golf & Country Club should provide an exceptional dining experience for Members and their guests by delivering attentive, professional, and personalized service. They ensure that all service standards are met or exceeded, while creating a welcoming and refined atmosphere.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Basic Expectations:
- Adhere to weekly employee schedule. If changes are required, contact a manager and finding a replacement is the responsibility of the scheduled employee
- Arrive at work on time and ready to work. Plan to attend and participate in daily pre-shift activities with management and kitchen staff
- Club issued uniforms and name badges should be worn during all shifts
- Consuming alcohol (beer, wine or liquor) while on the Club’s property will result in immediate termination
Service Excellence:
- Greet Members and guests warmly, using their names whenever possible
- Present menus and provide detailed information about menu items, daily specials and beverages
- Offer recommendations of food and beverage pairings
- Ensure order accuracy. Especially when modifying for special requests/dietary needs
- Clear communications with the kitchen are paramount
Club Standards and Etiquette:
- Maintain a polished and professional appearance in adherence to Club dress code policies
- Demonstrate knowledge of Club rules, policies, and events to answer Member inquiries
- Uphold confidentiality and discretion regarding employee, Member or Club information
Setup and Maintenance:
- Ensure your specific sections are prepared for service, including table settings, linens, and overall cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, dining areas, kitchen and Club storage
- Identify table numbers and seat numbers for Members and their guests
- Monitor “your section” for all service needs and respond promptly to Member requests
- When needed, servers shall act as bussers, food runners, etc.
Team Collaboration:
- Work cohesively with other staff members, including bartenders, bussers, kitchen staff, and management, to ensure seamless service
- Assist in the training of newly hired servers or team members as needed
- Communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues proactively
Special Events and Functions:
- A la carte staff members are required to work 20% of their scheduled hours in banquet focused events, compensated via hourly banquet pay and corporate/Monday outings
- Adapt service style to suit various event formats, from casual to fine dining.
- Provide service for special events, banquets, parties and golf events hosted by the Club
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Previous private Country Club/upscale fine dining establishments preferred
- Familiarity with Country Club culture and etiquette is a plus
- Knowledge of service, food, wine, and cocktail pairings preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Ability to handle Member complaints/suggestions with professionalism and grace
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
