Summary
The Event & Guest Experience Manager supports the successful execution of onsite private events at Tamayo by serving as the on-site liaison between clients, the operations team, and the kitchen. This hybrid role focuses on day-of event execution, administrative coordination, and exceptional guest service, while also assisting with smaller event bookings and periodic sales outreach. Essential Functions
Event Execution & Client Service:
- Serve as the on-site point of contact and supervisor for all events
- Greet and check in with event hosts upon arrival
- Lead and direct FOH team during events as a floor supervisor
- Act as a communication bridge between the sales team, kitchen, and FOH staff
- Ensure BEOs are executed accurately and service standards are maintained
- Monitor all events in progress and proactively resolve issues as they arise
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Distribute BEOs and event folders weekly to the ops and culinary teams
- Assist with post-event wrap-up including discrepancy reports and financial closing procedures
- Manage event inventory and coordinate supply needs (ordering linens, rentals, etc.)
- Support the ops team with staffing coordination based on upcoming event needs
Client Communication:
- Contact clients two weeks prior to their event to confirm menus, finalize logistics, and detail the BEO
- Provide personalized support in advance of the event to ensure a smooth guest experience
- Maintain professional and timely communication with clients throughout the planning process
Sales & Outreach:
- Handle inquiries and book smaller events (under 20 guests)
- Support the Sales Manager with outreach and prospecting during slower event weeks
Compensation Structure:
- Hourly Rate: $23–$25/hour based on experience (Estimated $48,000–$52,000 annually at 40 hours/week)
- Commission:
- 0.75%–1% on all executed events (~$10,500–$14,000 annually based on projected sales)
- 4% on smaller events personally booked (~$2,000–$4,000 based on past averages)
- Estimated Total Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 annually
Role Profile & Growth Path:
This is an entry- to mid-level hospitality leadership role with strong potential for growth. The position includes a commission structure and a clearly defined path to transition into a salaried leadership role. Ideal candidates will have experience as a FOH lead, catering captain, event coordinator, or early-career event manager. Work Environment:
This position is entirely on-site at Tamayo. A typical week includes administrative preparation, floor supervision during events, and direct client interaction. Flexibility is required, as the schedule includes evenings, weekends, often supervising multiple events per day.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10–12 hours per day during events)
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds (event supplies, linens, BEO folders, etc.)
- Frequent bending, lifting, and movement across kitchen, dining, and office areas
- Use of standard office equipment (computer, printer, phone) for administrative tasks

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule. A minimum of 40 hours per week is expected.
