ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

Neighborhood Housing Services is a Nonprofit community developer and affordable home builder seeks a highly motivated individual and experienced Manager, Information Technology to join our team. Neighborhood Housing Services of Los Angeles County (NHS) serves as a catalyst for local residents, business and government representatives to work together to build stronger neighborhoods, improve the quality of life for low to moderate income families and revitalize communities into neighborhoods of choice. 


GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION

This position reports to the Vice President and Chief Operational Officer and is responsible for developing and maintaining the IT multi-year plan, working with department leaders to assure that IT systems adequately support current and future business needs, oversees all technology projects and operations to assure alignment with established goals.  Responsibilities will also include creating an effective cybersecurity program to protect the digital assets of our organizations and our clients, establish and document IT policies and procedures, and to support and educate our staff and program participants on our IT systems and policies.
 

We seek an individual who will enjoy the challenge of effectively managing multiple, diverse responsibilities of this important hands-on-role. Salary range is $75,000 - $80,000.00.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains information technology strategies.
  • Ensures computer (hardware/software) synergy via troubleshooting, diagnosing, repair, installations and upgrades for hardware/software on all computers and computer systems.
  • Working closely with management, to provide database management, analysis and reporting. 
  • Measures and evaluates the staffs’ computer skills and recommends or provides one-on-one and/or group training. 
  • Performs preventive maintenance of the network system.
  • Responsible for workstation installation, upgrades and repairs.
  • Responsible for hardware and software installs/uninstalls, ensuring proper connection and system configuration.
  • Assists staff with analyzing and resolving various hardware and software application problems.
  • Researches and implements technological strategic solutions.
  • Accomplishes information technology staff results.
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
  • Coaches and provide IT support to staff and NHS Leadership.
  • Initiates, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment.
  • Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining and delivering strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data.
  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
  • Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes.
  • Identifies problems.

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as IT manager or similar role. Non-profit Organization experience preferred.
  • BS/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MS/MA will be a plus. iMIS database experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL systems and reporting preferred.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure as Service (IaaS) experience. 
  • Microsoft 365/Office 365. 
  • Cyber Security training/experience required as well as an understanding of privacy security issues.   
  • Video Conferencing systems and communication applications (Teams, Zoom, etc.).
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, cybersecurity, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, negotiating, presentation, documentation and communication abilities.
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.
Salary Description
$75,000 - 80,000
