JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Assistant/Generalist is responsible for providing support in areas including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, employment law compliance, payroll administration, and benefit administration

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


The current position is Part-time Monday-Friday.   Ideally individuals must be available to work 1pm-5pm M-F.
 

· Recruit, interview, and coordinate with staffing agencies

· Provide support to the HR Generalist on a variety of projects 

· Conduct new hire orientation

· Review time tracking for payroll

· Create and update job descriptions

·  HR policies and procedure administration

· Track a variety of training

· Address employee concerns

· Provide back up support on employee policy and procedures

· Conduct exit reviews as needed and process termination paperwork

· Provide additional administrative support to the administrative department

· Attend career fairs

· Perform other duties as required or assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • The requirements listed below are representative of the education, certifications, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree

or

  • equivalent experience in HR or related field

Licenses, Permits, and Certifications

  • None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of HR practices and employment laws
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
  • Use of  payroll software 
  • Ability to maintain confidentially
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal)
  • Ability to utilize standard office equipment (e.g. computers, phones, filing cabinets, copiers, and fax machines)
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with others on a variety of projects
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Have attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately follow work instructions
  • Ability to proficiently read and write in English
  • Ability to follow all safety rules
  • Ability to exercise judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations
