Position Summary

The Content Marketing Specialist supports the department’s marketing, communications, and sales initiatives, with a strong focus on generating content. Work with/on various communication channels, with a strong focus on social media, for the purpose of informing our members and prospects about our products and services in a positive, consistent and credible manner.

Position Accountabilities

The Content Marketing Specialist will be a savvy digital storyteller and team player who is dedicated to WAEPA’s mission and ready to roll their sleeves up when called upon outside of their traditional roles. You will be the voice of our brand. We are seeking a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can manage several projects at once – with a passion for writing, marketing, and communications. 

Position Accountabilities include:

  • Responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring WAEPA’s social media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and increase sales

       - Manage and maintain social media accounts; respond to all activity and effectively engage with WAEPA’s membership; expand our reach

       - Purchase social media advertising  

       - Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a communications strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation (including video strategy, email marketing, and thought-leadership materials)
  • Write, edit and proofread the organization’s communication content with a solid understanding of ‘WAEPA’s voice’ while maintaining brand voice across all materials
  • Update and manage WAEPA’s content calendar to ensure that all deliverables are met on time
  • Work closely with partners and WAEPA’s Member Services team to define and develop customized sponsored content and campaigns
  • Leverage all forms of communication to further the strategic interests, build brand visibility and thought leadership, and increase market awareness for WAEPA
  • Develop engaging copy, storylines, and themes for messaging
  • Ensures corporate correspondence/communication meets brand guidelines, reads well, and is error-free
  • Content editor for WAEPA’s quarterly reports
  • Write and distribute press releases via newswire services
  • Monitors our competition and provides progress updates on a weekly basis
  • Generate creative ideas for WAEPA’s blog; write and post articles weekly
  • Maintain website content for accuracy and relevance
  • Manage and circulate monthly email marketing programs generating creative ideas and relevant content
  • Work with WAEPA’s graphic designer to coordinate and fulfill creative development and execution of custom content; Build strong working relationships with our creative partners
  • Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic) to help shape future marketing strategies
  • Manage lead generation using the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system; Optimize content for lead generation and search engines
  • Assist marketing team with day-to-day tasks and coordinating projects

Required Experience or Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or sales
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related content creation and marketing experience (e.g. publishing, editorial, journalism, advertising, content marketing, and copywriting)
  • Competence in Microsoft Office -- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Experience in Constant Contact, Mailchimp, Click Dimensions, or other email marketing platform

  • Proven work experience in writing, editing, and proofing
  • Successfully serve as the brand voice of the organization (internal and external)
  • Proven experience building successful multichannel communications campaigns that deliver leads and target account engagement
