Assistant to the Director of Guidance

SUMMARY


This position serves to aid the Director of Guidance in day-to-day tasks, as well as long projects (i.e. standardized testing, the Christian College Fair, scheduling meetings with students and parents, master scheduling). This is a 10 month position, and workload varies, depending on certain events in the school and needs of the students. The fall semester is much more active then the spring semester, but there are always smaller tasks to be done and future events to organize and plan to get ahead.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Scheduling meetings with junior and eighth grade families. The job consists of scheduling with parents and preparing handouts for the meeting. (30%)
  • Helping structure and facilitate standardized testing for the PSAT and AP test. (10%)
  • Serving as the Tucson Christian College Fair Coordinator. Planning for this event   starts in September and ends in October after the fair. This job consists of talking to college reps, communicating with NACCAP, sending promotional materials, and set up and running the day of the fair. (30%)
  • Aiding in course requests and planning the master schedule for the next school year.  (10%)
  • Talking with students when directed by the Director of Guidance. (10%)
Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum education of high school diploma. 
  • Great communicator (speaking and writing), diligent in their work, organized and detail-oriented, and practical computer skills. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to lift or carry 25 Lbs.
