In this role we need an enthusiastic Product Owner to translate customer needs into product solutions. This Product Owner to collaborate with our customers and our product team to be the voice of the customer to the software engineering team. You will define and create actionable stories and prioritize them to ensure the product vision is implemented to customers satisfaction.

Performance Profile

Within 30 days 

· Gain an understanding of RiskLens training offerings, products, and professional services

· Familiarize yourself with the RiskLens SaaS platform 

· Understand the RiskLens Product roadmap in detail

· Run the team daily standup

· Build, edit, maintain the team backlog by working closely with Product Management, Development, and Support teams to ensure technology and business needs are represented in priority

· Establish and own the Product backlog refinement meetings

· Coordinate the team end of sprint demos and retrospectives

Within 60 days

· Participate in the review and response to customer feedback tickets

· Validate with the team on the definition of done for stories once accepted then validate stories to ensure they meet acceptance criteria

· Be the bridge between escalated support and development teams

· Collaborate with Product, UX, Engineering, and support teams to understand the needs and then translate them into business requirements

· Be able to breakdown the business requirements into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria

· Be able to explain the “how” and “why” behind all the user stories and other tasks

· Track and report status of product release(s) during a quarter

In 6 months

· Guide the Engineering team to establish and normalize estimation practices 

· Work towards an accurate understanding of team capacity and velocity to ensure delivery estimates are practical for everyone

· Coordinate sprint planning with DevOps and System dependencies. 

· Communicate story level detail and priorities to the team and ensure the team aligns and agrees on a final sprint plan. 

· Ensure team focus is divided between strategic items, maintenance/bugs, and discretionary needs

· Make decisions daily on product backlog, production issues triage, requests prioritizations, and the best way to communicate to the engineering and support teams

What will you do? (Role and deliverables)

  • Build a strong collaborative working relationships with Product Management, Software Engineering teams as well as RiskLens stakeholders
  • Work with the Product Managers to translate product strategy into stories for the software engineering team
  • Work closely with UX on research and design of new features
  • Work directly with the software engineering team, attending agile meetings, helping communicate the product, stories, and requirements
  • Help manage and prioritize the product backlog


Required Skills and Experience:

· 3+ years as a Product Owner or similar role

· Be able to demonstrate understanding and experience with Product Management concepts such as roadmaps, product vision and strategy, and product market research

· Proven experience in gathering requirements, creating documentation, and user stories

· Strong understanding and work with agile scrum teams

· Ability to work closely with the UX Engineer to visualize and prototype stories and feature sets

· Strong organization, written and communication skills

· Demonstrate the ability to work within a team structure in a collaborative manner

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Information Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines

· Strong analytical and quantitative skills

Preferred Skills:

· Bonus if you are Scrum certified as a product owner
